Faint Signs Of Intelligence

Come on in.....the water's lovely!

About Me

"Faint Signs Of Intelligence".....the phrase seemed as though it was part cliche, part ripe for the picking, as I was leafing through some old kids' books about space travel. Phil Williams and I had started recording some songs I wrote on the road to stave off the boredom of that life....mainly rather silly songs, but as we went on, we decided in the absence of any record company interference, that we could put whatever we liked on this album. We figured that if we liked it, then someone else must too. The other contender for the album title was "The Call Of The Wild", featuring a nice picture of cooked sausage on a window ledge.....kind of looking wistfully out at the countryside it once inhabited in its previous incarnation.....but we didn't do that....yet anyway. Of course, this album would not be what it is without the undefinable magic brought to it by our reclusive producers, Hugh Wosch and Al Drei. They have their own site here on Myspace....to hear their story, go to http://www.myspace.com/hughwoschaldrei. We'd much rather you made up what you liked about us by listening to our music, rather than force a band biography down your throats, but here are afew key facts:We know each other through our ongoing work as Tony Hadley's keyboard player and bassist. For more muso-type biogs, check out http://www.tonyhadley.com or http://www.hadleykeeblemusic.org.....We both have dark hair, Phil W. is English, Phil T is half English, half Danish, We are both Dads, We both like marzipan and We're very proud of this album, and are planning a "sister" for it....The four songs you have here are from our album, which you can buy if you like from our website....http://www.faintsignsofintelligence.com. As much as it is gratifying to sell the odd copy, it is really important to Phil and I that we get some feedback from you people out there. Any release is as far off as ever...we know that it is a marketing man's nightmare, but we've got some fantastic reviews from a whole range of people across the board.....so please feel free to add your comments...of any description. We hope you smiled a bit.

Sounds Like: We just wanted to please ourselves......which actually isn't as selfish as it sounds. If you like anything from Steely Dan to The Beatles via Weather Report, and are not averse to a bit of nice playing, you may be taken by what we're doing. You also have to accept that song lyrics don't always have to wear a frown.
