About Me

.. ... Always loved traveling, on land, sea, air, or mind space. From what space came "I ate the miles..."? I've traveled widely, and to some unusual places.

Been a geek for a long time, before the web if there is such a time. Never boring, it changes all the time. Puts bread on the table for all of us who keep up.

Lived near lots of salt water as a kid. Whether ocean or lake, water refreshes me. My mind is clear when I see all that blue before me. For a while I lived on my little sloop in a beautiful and expensive city. Free to sail off at any time. During a storm, there is a special feeling of security inside the warm dry cabin. But not much room for geek hardware.

All this is quite active & physical. I seem to travel backwards. My education was serious liberal arts, with lots of reading and across a wide span. Read much less now, at the computer instead.

My pictures tell about my ways better than I can in words.

Old Man Embracing a Young Woman

Great picture in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It  never changes.  In those days she probably did not have much choice.
