Battle City started as a semi-acoustic duo in 2005 by Angelo Estrella and Jason Barleta. The early songs were stripped down, bare boned pop songs intended for drinking sessions. Noticing that the songs were taking a life of its own, the two decided to make it an official band. They recruited Al Barleta and Dumar, the former being Jason’s brother and the latter as Al’s bandmate from another band.
The second chapter of Battle City formed early 2006 with a more focused direction and determination to spread their music for those who would want to hear it. Their sound evolved into something more versatile, from the melodic pop sensible songs to haunting compositions that have a penchant for moody atmosphere.
