Todays Paramount

About Me

Today's Paramount started basically from two musically-influenced kids who liked to jam together. This would be myself, Joel, and Cooper, our drummer. I played guitar at the time, and we just screwed around on mostly Green Day songs back in the day. How did we get slightly better, and end up with a complete change of the line-up, you may ask? Well I'll tell you. Cooper and I ended up playing in the eighth grade talent show with a bass player named Ian (we forgot his last name and wrote Jennings for the talent show flyer, so he will always be Ian Jennings to us). The audience seemed to respond extremely well for our level of talent at the time (not very much), and so we (cooper and I, we kicked out Ian Jennings) played our first official show at Wyatt's Torch. We played that show with Shift Into First, which is a lovely band, and they gave us words of advice which helped. We started playing other shows around town, a few at the Toad Tavern, which is a great place to play, and even one in Boulder for about fifty kids on a field trip from a halfway house. That was our first gig supplying free condoms and drug advice for the audience (not our planning but hey). Band Dynamics has helped us greatly on our way, and if you are a musician I highly recommend it. We have gone through three bass players so far, and I would like to thank them all for being a part of our experience. The first was Brandon Yale who still plays with Band Dynamics, but with a different band. Secondly was Steven Maribito, who switched to guitar when our third and by far (no offense to everyone else) best bass player yet, Chris Nordahl came along. He tuned into our style immediately, and helped shape it for the better. Chris thank you very much. When he had to move in the summer of 2008, we all were disappointed to the extreme, and I switched to bass. Despite a lack of skill I enjoy the bass and currently play it for the band, but we are open for a permanent bass player. If you play bass hit us up! So that leaves us where we are now. Over 20 gigs under our belt, we lost track a while ago, three semi-pro recordings which have been banned due to a pre-pubescent vocal track (my bad) and a three song demo set to be released within the school year (shhhh don't tell anyone yet). Thanks for listening!
