About Me

The Monkee Men are a four-piece rock band from the chicagoland area covering the music of The Monkees in a more modern rock style. In other words, The Monkee Men play the songs of The Monkees with distorted rock guitars, bombastic drumming and intense harmonizing vocals, creating a hybrid of the old and the new. The Monkee Men are...Alex Tyler: Vocals, Percussion - Alex has been in various bands such as Teeze, Siin, Fame, Rectifier & currently Mostley Crue. He has performed with members of Enuff Z'nuff, Dokken, Lynch Mob & The Shadows of Knight. He has recorded with members of Off Broadway & has opened for Yngwie Malmsteen, Slaughter & Enuff Z'nuff.Scott Ozark: Guitar, Vocals - Scott has played in local punk rock bands Oblivion, The Nobs, The Who tribute Substitute & Mostley Crue. He has also opened for The Monkees.Shaun Mathy: Drums - Shaun has played in The Wray Bands, Big Jim & The Twins & most recently with Blown.Bill Hailey: Bass, Vocals - Bill has played in the Pink Floyd / Genesis tribute Eclipse, Hocus Pocus Jazz Ensemble, Time Lapse & Tumbleweed.Together, The Monkee Men have played virtually everywhere there is to play in both original & tribute bands with a history in the local market for over 50 years combined. They have played such venues as The Thirsty Whale, The Avalon, The Metro, Park West, Toto's, Penny Road Pub, Double Door, Navy Pier, Taste of Chicago & many others. Oh & by the way, yes, they do play their own instruments. So you better get ready...... They may be coming to your town.
