Billy The Kid

About Me

Rappers have been rhyming about nothing and the perils of street life since the dawn of hip-hop. But what distinguishes Billy The Kid, the most anticipated rapper from the tri-state area, is his unique and consistent approach to talking these objects. Billy The Kid does not dogmatically preach at his listeners while lecturing them to live righteously. Instead, his lyrics are laced with ghetto-weary “been there done that” sentiment that implies there is life beyond the block. Call it educated thuggery, if you will. “I’ve got a song called Prime Objective, which is…saying money makes the world go round, so if you’re paper chaser there are some things you should know, and some rules u should follow” explains 23 year old Billy The Kid. He continues, “I can’t knock anybody for the lifestyle they had, or what puts food on their table, but at the same time, its important to be smart about the choices we make you dig?” Billy the Kid has been writing rhymes since the age of 17, but makes up for his short period of time as an emcee because of his natural ability to not only freestyle, but create cohesive, conceptual, and entertaining anthems. After turning down an independent record deal with WayneParchment during the fall of 2001, Billy continued to build his buzz touring the CUNY and SUNY universities as well as underground hip-hop…like Nuyorican Poet Café and the Pyramid. Performing alongside signed artists such as consequence of Kanye Wests’ GOOD Music and Nina B of Ravenous Records. Billy has earned not only the respect and co-signatures from his peers, but a nomination for underground buzz of the year at allhiphop.com. Unlike most MC’s who boast and brag about the harships they rap about, Billy truly did experience these scenarios. The stories that he tells in his rhymes and he suffered the consequences for his actions. Packed with high outcome production from super producers K-Wiz, Drone P, Flatline, and Handzon.
