2008 UPDATE: "HAYWIRE!" which I co-wrote with Tim Wilkins and directed in L.A., opens October 13 at the Bailiwick Arts Center in Chicago. This midwest premiere is produced by the hilarious Hell In A Handbag company - masters of high parody and camp. Visit www.handbagproductions.org for more details. If you didn't see the show in L.A., now's your chance to see it, kids. RUN don't walk!
Since 2006, I've had the pleasure of working on "The Beastly Bombing," originally as choreographer. In winter 2008, I directed and choreographe the show for its Midwest premiere at Chicago's Trap Door Theatre. A good time, with a great group of people. Trap Door Theatre ROCKS! If you're ever in Chicago, check out a show at this fantastic theater.
In October of 2007, "The Beastly Bombing" premiered in NYC at the New York Musical Theatre Festival. I received an Honorable Mention for Excellence in Choreography. For the original L.A. production the LAWeekly Theatre Awards nominated my work for Best Choreography and we also took home the Best Musical prize.
Running in L.A. from July of 2006 thru June of 2007, the show is a "cyanide-wrapped-in-chocolate" political satire described as "...H.M.S. Pinafore meets Dr. Strangelove." by the LAWeekly.
Below are some samples of my directing, choreography and voice work. Enjoy!1.) NBC/Channel 4 piece on "The Beastly Bombing" - just a little taste of the show. More video from the newly-choreographed NYMF version of the show coming soon...
2.) One of four numbers I choreographed for G4TV's "XPlay: The Musical."
3.)The HAYWIRE! trailer. I co-wrote this play with Tim Wilkins. I also directed and choreographed. A great cast and really wonderful experience. OPENING in Chicago, October 2008!
4.)"Riding Shotgun" - final episode, season 1. I voiced Sonny Brunson - the smoking guy w/goatee. Definitely a "bad guy" - not sure why, but they seem to be a speciality for me these days. Voiced several other characters in this and other Tokyopop series.
HAYWIRE! is a hilarious horror thriller that played at the art/works theatre in Hollywood.
"...Gruesomely funny! GO!" --LAWeekly; "...a goofy, inventive fever-dream of a play." --Los Angeles Times; "For pure, campy fun, you can't get a better deal." --ReviewPlays.com.
Voicing Sonny Brunson in the final scene from "Riding Shotgun" for Tokyopop.
