About Me

RONNIE CAYWOOD
Ronnie starting singing and playing guitar in his early teens, formed a band and played all around Central Texas. For a few years, Ronnie gave up his music to pursue another career, but music was always tugging at his heart strings. His love of music, along with his talent, led Ronnie back into music where he has developed his own unique Country style as well as Blues, Rockabilly and a little Western Swing.
Ronnie's original tunes come straight from the heart & thru the lessons that the ups and downs of love & life have taught him. He gave up alcohol some 20 plus years ago, turned his life around and headed for the stage. Anyone whose been down that road knows it's not an easy one to travel.
Although Ronnie remains modest about his music, you can find him performing with other great musicians or doing solo gigs just about anywhere around Central Texas & the Hill Country.
Ronnie was a participant in NBC's "America's Got Talent".
Showcased in various Songwriter Nights in Nashville, he's also sang at the Bluebird Cafe & the famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge.
Ronnie has shared bills with Country Singers & Grand Ole Opry stars Claude Gray, Jody Miller, Miss Norma Jean, Mary Lou Turner, Freddie Hart and Darrell McCall. Other great musicians who have backed Ronnie include Ronnie Huckaby & Benny McArthur (both members of Ace In The Hole), Dan Dreeben, Tom Batts and Steve DeLeon.
Ronnie appeared on the Austin, Tx. Fox Channel, filmed a TV Special with Country Singer Claude Gray, and has performed in the Austin's SXSW.
Ronnie's talents also include songwriting. His first song, "Id A Played Here For A Dime" appears on an album that in part was recorded by our friend, Razzy Bailey, at Razzy's Hit House in Nashville. Another tune that's received a lot of attention is "Just An Old Dude", also penned by Ronnie and recorded at Awesome Works Recording by Steve Palousek (former steel player for Ray Price) and includes tracks done by John Stacy and Steve Maynaard. Ronnie recorded "I'm The Man" at Cherry Ridge Studios with Tommy Detamore and features Ronnie Huckaby, Tom Batts, Bobby Flores, Dan Dreeben and Tommy Detamore.
Ronnies strong vocal abilities & engaging stage presence, along with his distinctive performance style, allow him to entertain audiences with original tunes as well as cover tunes from such artists as Jerry Max Lane, Roy Orbison, Van Morrison, Ray Price, Wynn Stewart, John Hiatt, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, George Strait, and Delbert McClinton to Kris Kristofferson, Lefty Frizzell, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson & Waylon Jennings, who have all been a tremendous influence in his life.
His crowd-pleasing tunes range from Country & Alternative Country to a little Rockabilly & Blues. Comfortable in front of all crowds, large or small, in both public & private settings, he consistently offers excellent entertainment while still remaining true to his Texas Music.
A member of the Austin Federation of Musicians (AFM Local 433), & BMI, he's also Listed in the Texas Music Directory, and is an Associate Member of the Academy of Country Music. Ronnie also won Honorable Mention in National Songwriting Contests in 2006 and again in 2008.
