Steadyfall is an alternative group with a powerful stage presence, eloquent and pointed lyrics that connect their loyal fans as well as new listeners and to those who just appreciate good music.
Formed in 2005 by Tony Grissom (drums) and Jacob Roper (vocals, lead). Both Jacob and Tony had been in a few bands before. They realized they needed to add something more to achieve the hardrock sound they both strived for. Soon the boys asked Steven Richardson (bass) to join the band and it proved to be the fit they needed. Originally known as Skylyne, the band practiced for long hours as often as possible to work on a more developed sound. They became more confident as time went on as they got closer and gained more skill. The trio performed there very first show at Warren County High School’s Homecoming 2005 Dance. While the show was small, it was very successful in bringing attention to the small town band with a big sound.
In January ‘06 the band came together to start playing a few shows. "The feeling of being up there is intense," says Roper, "you never know what's going to happen." A show at WT’s in McMinnville, was a memorable show for all they guys. "I was a little bit nervous, but it seemed to work out really well. The crowd response was better than I expected, even though they were drunk," says Tony.
The group continued to write new songs play shows wherever they could and record as often as possible. Months passed for the band as more songs, demos, and shows were played. A day spent in Nashville led the three-some to meet Steve Smith (Tootsie's Bar in Nashville). Steve liked the rough demo the band had recorded. So to help the guys out, Steve directed them to his number one producer in Franklin, TN, P.T. Houston.
Steadyfall went up to P.T.’s to record their first professional quality demo in the Off the Road Record's studio. Long hours and determination resulted in the band's first three songs on a professional sounding CD. Deep in Me, All That You Hate, and You're All Wrong. The songs became instant hits and many requests from local fans came about, and the word spread that Steadyfall were serious about their music and had the talent to back it up.
From playing venues all over Tennessee including the Wildhorse Saloon, Fuel, 820 Showcase, they gained more fans from in and out of Tennessee to join their already fiercely loyal fan base. Through Myspace and Purevolume, hundreds of listeners came across the boys adding them to their friends list or adding them to their favorites on their personal page. The word was growing that Steadyfall was getting established and had a good band. Later on different radio, recording, and show opportunities were offered to Steadyfall to really bump up their already blooming career status.
Currently, Steadyfall has recorded their first album "Whatever You Say...." via Off the Road Records. A few of the songs can be heard at the bands Myspace or Purevolume and their cd's and merchandise can be bought at their online store or through the members themselves.
