I am so excited! Chickie Cubano has been a dream for me for many years. I started sewing about 10 years ago when my mom taught me how to use her Singer sewing machine. I started out designing dresses for Barbie. After a while I figured if I could sew these tiny difficult seams then I could make human clothes! My first endeavor was a lined velvet bustier style top with a zipper. I was very pleased with it and i havent stopped sewing since. I think that bustier is what hooked me into making corsets.
I have never gone to school for fashion or anything like that. For me, it just comes naturally and I like to experiment with new techniques.
Sometimes I get so many ideas it gives me a headache because i know i dont have enough time to design them all. And it doesnt help that i still have a full time job and i have to sew around it. But its like a disease, i cant stop. Its all i think about. I put a lot of time, care and thought into everything i make.
