About Me

Cellar Door is a mystery project of Lauren Smith and Randall Holt. LRN's been singing & playing guitar for ten years. She's a sassy redhead who likes to wear red boots, name her instruments, and generally rock out. RNDL is a classically trained cellist from Albuquerque. He makes hobo meet chic, and is generally fabulous and endearing. Here at CD, we probably love you, so friend us, come out to the shows, and show some love back. Here's what fun people are saying about CellarDoor:"when the light up in the attic of tired pop cliches becomes unbearably bright, there's always an open cellar door." - Jeff Elliott, visiting member of Cellar Door"It's what Cat Power would sound like if she knew how to play instruments" - John-Mike Reed, bleeplabs.com"She sounds like a female singer-songwriter who has never heard Cat Power" - Isaac Martinez, wholefoodsmarketIf you want a fun quote up here, send me a message describing my music. We tend to quote other people when asked as opposed to trying to describe our own music.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Lauren Smith (aka, LRN): the voice/brainz. Isobelle: the steel strings Isodora: the nylon strings Twinkle: the ivories (the tiny one) Lowrey: the fancy new organ! Marcel: the wheels[Let it be known that LRN is the only person in Cellar Door. As the thinktank/propeller of CD, LRN sometimes feels the need to speak of herself in the third person, and then name several inanimate objects in order to not feel lonely.]
Influences: Bjork, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Neutral Milk Hotel, and of course my undying love, Jason Mraz.
Sounds Like: Bjork and Patsy Cline. More or less a girl, a guitar, and sometimes a tiny piano.
Type of Label: Major
