Born in Kingston Upon Thames into a musical family (her parents were singers, her stepfather a saxophonist). Liz has performed all over Europe, the Far East and New York.Influenced by Peggy Lee and Julie London with a love for Ella and Chet Baker's phrasing and has always had a passion for Marvin Gaye , Donny Hathaway, and many of the early fusion bands, Liz has developed her own style. She has recorded three solo albums to date - Mellow-mania (Black Box), Liz Fletcher Live in the Park (Black Box) & Blue Afternoons (Mainstem). Her first professional jazz gigs where with Ceri 'Sunship' Evans.Some projects Liz has been involved in sessions and tours with the world music band Loop Guru, 45 Dip where she co-wrote the successful Trip hop single "Lizzie's Balloon", the Latin/House band 'Los Ladronez' and with Phil Parnell on his electronic album "Do your living in the night" from which the single, "Run Away". This song has been highly acclaimed by Radio 1 DJ Giles Peterson and Mr Scruff plus many more in the UK, USA, Germany, France, Canada and Ireland.Performing in jazz clubs such as Ronnie Scotts and internationally with musicians, Alan Barnes, Tony Coe, Jim Mullen, Andy Panayi, Marc Parnell and Gareth Williams to mention but a few. She supported Nina Simone at a Festival in Greece. Recorded an album written by saxophonist Alan Barnes and the play-write Alan Plater called 'Songs for unsung hero's'. The Scarborough Jazz Festival commissioned Barnes and Plater to write another work with Liz singing called, 'The Seven Ages of Jazz'.In between touring the North of England with Voilinist Graham Clark and gigging in and around London, Liz has been working on writing material and in pre production for her next solo album.
