I have been back in Portland for about a year and a half after living in Seaside and Astoria for about 9 months. I lived in Colorado (Boulder and Denver) from January 2004 to December, 2005. I played a lot of music there in the bands The Inactivists, Sentimental Hitmen, Reed Bye and the Long Way 'Round, Visit, and a brief stint with The Steven Ferguson band. I also backed up poets at Naropa University, especially Akilah Oliver. During that time, I played on 6 independently-released CD's. (Oh, yeah, and there was that one X'mas album!) I also did some artwork for Farfalla/McMillan and Parrish poetry press: The cover painting for Junior Burke's novel Something Gorgeous; I did the cover design for Vanessa Boff's Syzygy, Bobbie-Louise Hawkins Bijoux, and Anne Waldman's Red Noir. When I came back to Portland in early 2006, I was the boom operator for a trailer of the movie Pretty Little Love Song, played clarinet and whistled on the soundtrack for the movie Identity Burglars and sat in with a few bands. I am now playing with Climatize, a fine funk/rock band and playing a little bit elsewhere with some other projects. I am currently arranging jazz standards to do a CD of whistling and clarinets.
