I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a former club kid and I've decided to start up this page to create an online archive for all those young people who are interested in the NYC nightclub scene from the late 80s and early 90s. I have a considerable amount of memorabilia and photos from that era, so the goal is to digitize them and mount them in my photo albums. I'm no longer a nightclubber, though I still go out once in a while to dance. I'm now a newspaper reporter at a suburban daily.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is interesting or fun.

My Blog

Clothes I'm selling

I've been asked about selling some of my clothes that I don't want, so I've taken some pictures of stuff and if anyone is interested contact me. Here are the clothes I want to sell.

Pseudo-punk bars

Miss. C and I went to a couple of pseudo-punk bars on Saturday out of boredom. Not much to report from Ave. A in the East Village, especially on a Saturday night. If I didn't work Monday through Frida...

I went to dinner this afternoon with my partner and Miss C in the East Village and while walking past the Patricia Field store on the Bowery I saw the video/film maker Charles Atlas. If you don't know...

John Lennon

I went to Yoko Ono's reception last night for the new John Lennon in New York exhibit that opened today at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex in Soho. Yoko looked fabulous and I got to sit in the fron...

Little club kid reunion

I went to a party hosted by Sylvie and Wayne, two musicians who throw parties in performance spaces around NYC. I suppose I know them from the nightclub scene because Michael Alig would invite them to...

Clara's Carefree Cocktail

At some point in this blog I've written that Clara the Carefree Chicken had a signature cocktail, Clara's Carefree Cocktail. I've found an invite with the logo for the cocktail. It was made with Bacar...

Club flashback

I was at Greenhouse last night and it was packed. Miss C and I could barely dance and there was no possibility of hanging out in the basement, which not only gave me deathtrap vibes, but it was horrib...

The Washington, D.C. USA Superstar tour party

We took a big group to the USA Superstar Party in Washington D.C. because it's close by and we were able to quickly get there by bus or train. Our host Skip, who now lives in Arizona, was a gracious h...

The Chicago USA Superstar Tour party

Another party I can't remember is our USA Superstar event in Chicago. We had a lot of success promoting the NYC club kid scene in Chicago. The club owners and promoters there really liked our scene an...
