THE DIRTY LIONS BAND

Hello fellow Englishman. The time has come to retrieve what is rightfully ours! For too long have we waited on the sidelines, watching captain's from subordinate(footballing) countries lift 'our' cup... No longer will the Gods be against us. No longer will our spirit and talent not be enough. This is our year and together (on and off the pitch) we can make it happen!The Dirty Lions Band formed in response to an anglophobic, FIFA sponsored, hate campaign (circa 1970). Doing whatever it takes to stop us winning the World Cup, FIFA have been showing no signs of respite in thier anglophobic intentions for the past 20 years. As we as a country have evolved into a liberal, free thinking state over the past 60 years -helping to defeat small minded nazi's of the mid 2oth century along the way- it is we who have become the scape goats for thier very own -slightly subtle- brand of fascism (a good example of this fascism was highlighted last week when 2000 Dutch fans were refused entry to there world cup group stage match because thier garments displayed the name of a brewery that wasn't an official sponsor). They gave us the hand of god, Carlton Palmer, Graham Taylor, the post which Chris Waddle hit in 1990, Sol Campbells disallowed goal against the Argies 1998, Terry's disallowed goal in 2004, the post that Gazza hit in 1996 and they always make us play important matches in the midday heat. The list is endless... Yes my friends, the Gods have always been against us in our lifetime, the God's of a secular religion we call football.This is a war between the classic binary opposistions of good and evil. They know if we win we will sieze control of the football religion and will once again rule the world in a fair manner (we always win the fairplay award!). We would have 2000 Dutch fans dressed in thier little orange garments displaying symbols we do not endorse for money. We would consider it more unethical to have 2000 naked fans watching the match, after all this is a family game!Now the time has come to march on the fifa HQ with the World cup in hand. Like any good army we need a beat! Don't worry about that though as thats where The Dirty Lions Band comes into play. We have formed for this day. It is our destiny. PLEASE grant us this one wish.
