Yesterday I went to the store and found a penny in the parking lot. I looked closely at the penny and saw that the markings were worn off. So, I asked myself, "Is the penny face up or face down?" As I bent over to pick up the penny so see wether or not it was face up or down, I thought, " maybe I souldn't disturb the penny." After all, it has been there a long time and may actually be the face down penny, thus waking the bad penny gods which, in turn, would cause a car to hit me in the ass. ( Yes, I was still in the in the middle of the parking lot). I paused and said, "Screw it." and proceded to dig the little guy out of the asphalt. Anyway, 'cause I am a penny face up kinda guy, I examined the penny and could only make out these words. "America" and "E Pluribus Unum" Dont know what it means but looks good on paper...er... penny. Then, all of a sudden, I noticed a small, brief, hissing sound. It sounded like a tire going flat and was comming from the hole in the asphalt where the penny was. Is it me? Or, does the world seem a little smaller today.
