About Me

While being made to listen to 50's, 60's & 70's rock and country growing up; DJ Graphex was educating himself to the world of music, eventually being introduced to many other genres of music. From changing stations back and forth on the radio, to changing up CDs at home or in the car; he knew that he had a thing for music.Knowing when to play the right song at the right time was his forte. Getting a reaction out of the individuals in the car or around the house made him strive to be involved with music. He was turned on to the world deejaying back in 2001. While attending raves and club events, he was amazed at the way the DJ worked the crowd, this is when he was introduced to electronic music. Watching the likes of Slater Hogan, Chocolate the Freaky Afronaut, Craze, Qbert, and many others inspired him to pursue this art form.Obtaining his first set of turntables in 2001, he was eager to learn the art of being a DJ. Teaching himself was not an easy task. He started out playing house music, for this was his passion. After a few years, he found out the way to differentiate himself from other DJs was to be versatile behind the decks. Knowing that he wanted to not only venture into a new genre, but truly become emerged in it, he decided it was time to find help. So he looked to DJ Kidd Kutt of Hypercentage DJs and a mixer on 93.1 WNOU for some much needed help. Showing him some new techniques and tricks, Graphex has been able to step his game up to a new level. Blending hip hop, rock, house, and anything else on vinyl has made him who he is today. He will take you on a musical journey every time he hits the decks.
