About Me

Let me preface this by saying I think making a DJ profile is a bit silly and i've never had to write about myself in such a manner before but i'll try anyways.
I don't really consider myself a DJ since it seems like anyone who gets pair of turntables, a mixer, and some records these days thinks they are some superstar DJ. Kinda like how anyone who gets a guitar and learns how to play "stairway to heaven" is automatically considered a musician. I just like to collect records and push a sound that isn't acknowledged much in my area.
I grew up on a healthly dose of classic rock and then into thrash metal. Mix that with punk rock, industrial, and 80s new wave and you pretty much get the essence of everything I am. I started DJing 8 years ago and have been mixing on and off since then. Right away I identified with a sound that was more agressive than anything else in the electronica scene. It was called gabber. It originates from the netherlands, but has many subgenres. All of which I have collected and spin. The main ones are american hardcore, UK Hardcore, and the Dutch Hardcore.
I collected everything I could find and everything that my limited teenage fundage would allow. I soon found my niche and began to spin at raves at the age of 16. Hardcore is a very small scene compared to the other genres of electronica such as house, trance, and even drum and bass, but it has a very loyal and dedicated following.
I soon found myself in the right circles and started spinning at parties across Texas and the surrounding states. I've found the midwest states are the closest i'll find to the following i'm looking for, but they're up there and i'm in Houston so i've been trying to rack my brain to bring the scene I so desperately desire to Houston. Some say it can't be done, but I feel if I can get the drive I need and keep pushing my sound then i'll get what I want. Over the past 5 years i've been slowly building the hardcore scene here, one person at a time. To keep hardcore emblazened in people's mind as a genre to be reckoned with, I became a little known or infamous rather for my antics behind the decks on some occasions. Said antics include breaking records over my head, lighting my records on fire, and mixing with my feet. (which is no easy task mind you) It all depends on how much alcohol I get in me.
At one time there were about 6 or 7 hardcore DJs in Texas, but I think they've all pretty much stopped playing. Props go out to Invid, Justin Lee, Swift E, Sociopath, Kryptic, and Muppetfucker. I'm proud to say I spun along side of those guys over the years and were fellow hardcore DJs down for the cause.
After a period of being away from the turntables for a couple years I have felt a new resurgency and hope I can continue to spread the Hardcore gospel with my new teaming with Unlit Productions. I look forward to this new start, and I look forward to more mayhem behind the decks.
In addition to DJing, I also started producing about 4 years ago, but most of that was just dabbling in various programs and never got too serious because I have yet to be able to afford drum machines, synthesizers and all the other equipment that goes along with the production game. However I hope to soon bring some of my original works to the table and post them on this page. Along with some newly recorded mixes I am working on. So i'll keep everyone posted with more info on here.
