About Me

Doe Boy Choch Born For The Cutting Edge Born for the cutting edge, Buffalo, NY’s Doe Boy Choch, as he has been branded by several Hip Hop A-Listers, is on his way to the top of the food chain. Among DiCioccio’s initial achievements was creation of The Cut Barber Shop in May, 2001 when he was just 19 years-old. Striving for excellence, Dave’s craftsmanship drew an impressive clientele that stretched from homegrown regulars to television notables, Rap stars, and athletes. His professional technique is so revolutionary that he has virtually created a genre. “I’ve been told by some of my clients that while they were walking on the beach in Florida “they have actually been stopped and asked if they got their hair cut by me up in Buffalo,” Doe Boy muses. Among his trendsetting innovations is a signature cut DiCioccio designed in Western New York that has become an international standard. Known as the Gotti Cut, the style found widespread notoriety on television when the Gotti boys sported the look Dave designed on their reality show. “They never got their hair cut here,” DiCioccio is quick to explain, “but they were wearing a hairstyle I created.” The unique haircut has since been seen across the globe. The Cut Barber Shop brought Doe Boy his first brush with renown when he was featured on the cover of the Buffalo News Business Section with good friend and fellow businessman, jeweler, Brian Michaels. Since that time Dave has branched out, spread his wings, and is soaring to new heights of success and recognition in his most creative ventures to date. It all began innocently enough as a winsome five year-old child dancing to funk. And as DiCioccio grew, so did his love of music. Spending weekends on Buffalo’s notorious Westside with his father, he was Inspired by the area’s street culture and brought much of it back to the suburbs with him. And with the rhythm of the city moving him, Dave became deeply enamored with Hip Hop from the first beat he heard. “I connected hard with Rap music instantly,” Doe Boy recalls. “I wasn’t even in middle school yet but its message struck a nerve in me because I saw what they were saying going on all around me even at that young age,” he added. “The beat went soul deep; it just moved me from the inside out. It was all brand new but seemed like I was just waiting for it, almost like I knew it was coming. I was young, but I still really liked Dr. Dre, Public Enemy, and the Geto Boys.” Fast forward a decade as Hip Hop came into its own across America. Erupting into a vast subculture that took the streets by storm, it also became Hip Hop, Inc. and changed the way its enthusiasts dressed, spoke, thought, lived, and did business. And with Doe Boy catching its wave from the first notes, Rap seized his heart and grew into a movement that forever changed the direction his life would take. Doe Boy absorbed everything he could about the genus of Hip Hop, from its styles and dialect, to its headliners and up-and-coming luminaries. Enter Shiest Bubz, a rising Rap star who bumped into one of his biggest fans in downtown Buffalo: Doe Boy Choch! The two connected and stayed friends as Doe Boy reached out to book some of his early shows and set up parties for the rapper. In the meantime Doe began to do what came natural: playing the Rap game and playing to win. He found he had the instincts and talent and his creative flair fused with his love of technology made him a natural in the recording studio as both an artist and producer/director. It wasn’t long before Doe Boy Choch was churning out his own mixtapes. The music was good. Good enough in fact to grab the attention of Shiest Bubz, CEO of Purple City and other members of Hip Hop’s hardcore ruling class, including Hell Rell, Duke Da God, and the rest of The Diplomats. Additionally, Doe Boy earned a well deserved reputation for directing “fly” music videos that led him to become further vested in Rap’s coveted inner circle. "I took the time to learn under people I respect in the Rap game,” Doe Boy reflected. "I have spent a lot of time with Shiest Bubz and he really taught me how to do the mixtape thing. Hell Rell and The Diplomats also mentored me.” Cultivating his connections to The Diplomats and “Purple City Music,” an independent recording label founded by Shiest Bubz in 2003, DiCioccio launched his own independent record company, aptly christened, “The Cut Life.” He was on his way up the mountain and loving the view as he climbed. Since that time, Doe Boy has been featured on numerous Dipset and Purple City mixtapes such as “Shiest Bubz Presents Summer Grind, Got Dipset Vol. 7.” A well respected talent he has also directed music videos for Diplomat Records including Hell Rell’s "Ready for War" and "So Hard" by Unkasa. Thus far Doe Boy Choch has six independent releases on “The Cut Life” label, two of which are hosted by Shiest Bubz and Unkasa respectively. Distributed throughout New York State, there have been over 32,000 units circulated and Doe Boy has enjoyed an commanding 500,000 hits on his Youtube and MySpace offerings. Doe and The Cut Barber Shop were highlighted on Vh1’s “I Love New York” and have also been featured on numerous street DVDs. Additionally, Dave has hosted the Big Apple’s “Hot 97 Dipset” shows, rolling with such personalities as Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and the entire Diplomat family. His talent has opened doors to mingle with actresses, models, and singers at awards shows, and recently, Hell Rell gave Doe Boy Choch a “G Pass” pulling him little closer to the top of the food chain. Likewise, Shiest Bubz has formally recognized Doe Boy’s talent signing him to Purple City as an artist. For his first project Doe will be rapping on the new Shiest Bubz album, “Purple and the Power” featuring Devin the Dude from Rap-A-Lot Records. Devin has worked with some of Rap’s most legendary pioneers including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Jay Z. The venture is slated to be released through commercial outlets upon completion. “ Purple City is a way of life,” Doe Boy insists. “I’m all about living it and want to invest my soul into this movement.”The Cut Life- Doe Boy Choch Ill Tone Killa Purp ( A and R) J Ziggs Riz CANDYMANOther Affiliates Shiest BubzPurple CityHell RellDuke Da GodA MafiaWebsites Thecutlife.com Myspace.com/doeboychoch Myspace.com/thecutlife Myspace.com/thecutbuffalo Datpiff.com Youtube.com
