About Me

Born - Kentucky 1982.Hope to have the bio completed fairly soon. I truely hate writing about myself in such a direct way, so I'm attempting to con someone into doing it for me.Just a bit about the songs. All three of the current songs on my page were written around 3-4 years ago and the recordings originate around that time as well. I would like to thank my friend Donald for all of his equipment and sound engineering skills during that project. I have since gone back and rerecorded and cleaned up a few of my older songs, but am still in the process of editing and mixing. Those were recorded earlier this year, and will be posted shortly. Since that time, my style and skills have been changing just as I have. I'm writing about a line each day on a set of around 20 songs. It would be my wish to have some recordings and start performing the new material before the end of this year. Also, there is a plan in works to release a short cd of my older material before the end of the year. Hope that you all stick around for the journey.---------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------If anyone has any info on booking me for shows, open mic events, or label interest - please contact me here with a name, description, and contact info. ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------Also, I encourage downloading and passing along my songs and page to those with which might share your interest. ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: Download my songs at no cost from myspace.
Band Members: Lance Sparkman - Writer, Piano, Vocals, Production.
Influences: I have always found myself attracted to the ideas of the offbeat. Artists that take chances and are highly conceptual excite me the most. In my youth, poetry was the easiest way for me to express myself, and the marriage of poetry and sound is something many chat up but few achieve. I was lucky enough to have been exposed to a few of these brilliant people during my formative years, and I strive to reach some level that nears their intensity. As a student of art history, I have also been heavily influenced by the visual. I wish to create abstracted landscapes of emotions or ideas with my words, and to give my audience a wealth of colors in which they can find a visual dreamscape all of their own. Coming from an oppressive culture in the bible belt of America, it would be insane to underestimate the influence of religion and social politics upon my work. Like those artists I respect the most, I wish for my work to be more than a nice sound, or a literal re-telling of love affairs. My friends and family have always challenged me to speak loudly, to live boldly, and to never settle for black and white; for the best in humanity nearly always exists in the gray. It is these ideas that begin to hint upon the foundations of who I am as a person and who I am challenging myself to be as an artist.

The Trix Bunny.

Yes, it is true that "Bullets" was at least partially inspired by the Trix bunny.
