About Me

I am no longer using this account. I am currently using http://www.myspace.com/timsidden .If you decide to honor me with being your friend please use that website as I will not respond to this one... Thanks and have a great day..Tim Sidden grew up in the Foothills of North Carolina in a small town called N. Wilkesboro NC.By the age of 21 Tim had played piano on over 100 Records and CD’s for various Gospel and Country Music artist around the country. He credits Gary Prim, Gary Smith, Matt Rollings, and John Barlow Jarvis as his inspiration for learning the piano. His first taste of traveling professionally came at the early age of 18 when he took his first job with a band called The Anhormen who had several top 40 hits in gospel music. In 1990 Tim’s life would change drastically when he was offered a position with Calvin Gilmore Productions to fill the pianist position for one of Calvin’s shows called The Dixie Jubilee. For several years Tim served as the Featured Pianist for that Nationally Acclaimed show. In 1998 Gilmore Entertainment decided to bring all three shows The Dixie Jubilee, Southern Country Nights and the Carolina Opry into the brand new 2500 seat state of the art facility in Myrtle Beach SC. Were Tim served as Featured Pianist. During this time he acquired another trait that would benefit him to this day. Tim state’s, The guy that was doing all the orchestration work for Calvin Gilmore Productions left us and Calvin was looking for another guy to fill the slot and ask me to do it. I had never thought about orchestration nor did I have the experience and at first turned down the offer. But Calvin was persistent and eventually I gave in and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. Not only was Tim doing Orchestrations for the Biggest Show on the East Coast but touring artist were calling him to overdub Strings and Horns for New Projects they were recording in the studio. Not long after he started Orchestration work for Calvin Gilmore he found himself Producing Orchestrations on as many as 5 artists Cd’s a week. “To say I was burning the Midnight Oil would be an understatement”. Tim Says. During Tim’s tenure with Calvin Gilmore Productions and the Carolina Opry they were honored with the Governor’s Cup two times,The Carolina Opry has been the only show to ever win that prestigious award, along with accolades from every major news source in the country such as the New York Times and The Washington Post to name a few. In 2003 Tim had to make a decision, He was working 16 hours a day at the Carolina Opry and Producing, Playing Piano and Orchestrating on as many projects as he could handle. “One of the hardest decisions I ever made was leaving Calvin Gilmore. But after 14 years and over 4,500 shows I felt like there was more to life that I wanted to do so, May 28th 2004 I played my last show with the Carolina Opry. I will never forget that day. I was leaving the next day to go to Nashville Tn. And felt like I was leaving my kids behind. That is how close we all were”. One thing that Tim is very proud of, he never missed a show with Calvin Gilmore."Our day off was on Sunday most of the time and if something happened it usually happened on Sunday. Tim says with a laugh. I was married on sunday both of my boys Dallas and Tucker were born on Sunday and I used to joke that Calvin had a deal with God. After leaving The Carolina Opry, Tim was doing all the session work he could do but still have a few dreams that he wanted to accomplish. So he made the move to Nashville Tn. Home of the Grand Ole Opry. “Nashville is totally different than anything I had ever experienced before. I saw so many talented players playing down on Broadway making $25 plus tips literally starving to death. It was a wake up call to how lucky I had been in my music career”. It was not long till Tim had landed a job working with one of the biggest National tours in Nashville, “The Honky-Tonk Tailgate Party” Featuring Darrlye Singletary, Rhett Akins, Chad Brock, David Kersh, Jeff Carson. “The one thing I always wanted to do was play some of the biggest shows in the country and I had finally got my chance. I was like a kid in a candy store.” This opportunity also led the way to Tim performing on the “Grand Ole Opry” several times. “I must say that one of the highlights of my life was walking on stage at the Ryman Theater better known as the “Mother Church of Country Music”. It was a unreal experience. I remember thinking I am walking in the same footsteps as the legends before me walked. It really was a surreal feeling”. Truly I was truly thankful to have that opportunity. Today you will find Tim’s music on the airwaves of Country and Gospel Radio Stations across the country, were he has either Produced, Orchestrated or played Piano on Numerous Top 40 hits. Tim’s style of Orchestration work is widely considered by industry insiders to have that “elusive” Movie Soundtrack Quality to it. “As much as I enjoy working in the studio my heart is playing live. I enjoy working with artist from time to time and realizing the relationships formed through music. I am truly a blessed person. The relationships I have made through the years are priceless. I would not take anything for the friendships I have made across the country. The artist I have met. I truly have been blessed.
