About Me

I grew up surrounded by country, bluegrass and gospel music, sounds that inspired me as well as lulled me to sleep as a young child. I attended church each Sunday and tried my best to sing the hymns but found I was far more suited to accompany the ole church organ and it's lower pitched harmonies.I started writing and playing on a more sincere level when I was inspired by friends hosting the local jam. From there I moved to Toronto where I eventually began singing back-up and continued writing. Years later I returned home and was once again smitten with the talent that lies in this small community. I've had the pleasure to meet and play with many talented musicians and for that I am eternally grateful.Life is good and I'm happy to be part of it!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Lee Anne Wesseling, vocals and acoustic guitar. Enjoy the sporadic back-up of long term partner, Dan Walsh on electric, acoustic, dobro and lapsteel when his touring ass is at home. I otherwise find myself playin' or accompanying many a fine, local, musician such as House Milner at the hometown, tavern jams.
Influences: The country, bluegrass & gospel tunes emanating from the living room as Dad and the band practiced when I was a young child. Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Yodelin' Slim and perhaps even an occasional attempt at "Ripple" by the Grateful Dead. My Mom, although she never played an instrument she is a great lover of music and artistic by nature. The musicians that frequented my favorite watering hole, the Melbourne Hotel. The likes of Bearfoot, Ronnie Hawkins, Tom Wilson and The Nationals but especially the locals hosting the Tuesday night jam, Ian Ross, Duane Rutter and Todd Wilson, great tunes, great times, great friends! The rest runs the gamut from Neil Young to Townes, Willie P. Bennett to Willie Nelson... inspiration is all around us.
