Who says you can't mix different genres of music together to make a hot song? Sharice has done it and people are loving it! In the words of the great Jam Master Jay, " The world is not ready for where she is about to take music."As a young girl growing up in Yonkers, New York, Sharice made her musical debut in the church she grew up in. Her father a retired Gospel singer with the "Legendary Dixie Humming Birds", would agree, that she's always shared his passion for music.Sharice began writing her own music in 1996, and has managed to craft a style that is truely unique. She has developed into a fine studio performer, and has had oppotunities to record with major label artists from Ruff Riders and Rocafella records, learning oppotunities that she's thankful for. It wasn't long after that she was doing background vocals and even opening concerts in New York.After relocating to Richmond, Virginia In 2003, Sharice became the founder and host of "One Mic Thursday's", a weekly open mic showcase in the heart of downtown Richmond. One Mic became the home of the up and coming artists in central Virginia, and the One Mic legend still goes on today.Now back in New York City, Sharice is wrapping up her first Mix-tape with a local DJ. " I just want to travel the world and share with them my music!" says Sharice, as she looks forward to completing the recording of her first album " Pieces of the Puzzle" this year. No doubt, through her hardwork and tenacity she will be signed with a major recording company soon.
