Swift Skillz was born in Brooklyn, NY in the neighborhood of Bed-Stuy. Home to many world-famous MC's. As a child he listened to Run-DMC, Kurtis Blow, Eric B & Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, and Masta Ace slowly falling in love with the hip-hop culture. He realized his passion for microphone skills once he B.I.G.'s "Juicy" and Black Moon's "I Gotcha Opin'" in 1994. He praticed his skills at high school while chilling with his friends and then he moved to Mobile, Alabama. Once there, he continued to hone his skills in ciphers with friends who form a group "Southside 17". While his friends were starting to get some local recognition he started to listen to artists that changed his perspective on the art of MCing. These artists were the vanguards of the Rawkus movement, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Pharoahe Monch. It was then he knew that hip-hop was his life and this is what he wanted to do. After high school and went on to college for a couple of years, he joined the Marine Corps. After five years of service. Swift Skillz is focused on giving the people hip-hop music from the soul and deciding not to follow the trends of the industry.Swift Skillz is currently focused on releasing his first mixtape, "Groundation Vol.1" to let know thw world know who he is and what he represents.I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
