About Me

SACRAMENTO’S LATIN REGGAE FUZION BANDA Fuzion of Latin Rhythms and Melodies with Rock, Reggae, Funk, Ska, Swing, and more...Latin music has always had a small representation in the local Sacramento music scene, but has never produced a band that can transcend culture, age, and musical genre. ATAPAZ as it is know today, began creating their unique style in the Sacramento area. The origins of ATAPAZ can be traced back to CSU, Sacramento circa 1999 when a couple of friends decided to add music to poetry, flor y canto in Spanish. It was truly an unforgettable combination of latin rock, blues, jazz, reggae, and indigenous beats. As time progressed, spoken word - flor y canto was replaced with songs with an array of themes ranging from heart brokenness to love for one another, optimistic original upbeat melodies, old school funk, to popular covers in Spanish with a unique twist. ATAPAZs music is infectious to all musical tastes because of their wide spectrum of influences and genres represented in their music.ATAPAZ, a 5 piece band features an ethnic makeup that’s as diverse as the city they live in. They have managed to tweak people’s consciousness with their amalgamation of Cumbia, Latin Rock, Reggae and funk. They promote friendship, love, unity and celebration and there infectious grooves and wide spectrum of influences and genres appeal to all listeners. ATAPAZ offers a distinct sound whether you speak Spanish or not, and guarantees to get you on the dance floor. . .FOR MORE INFORAMTION, OR FOR BOOKING PLEASE CONTACT US!!!
