gnus is a company that I started with my Dad when I was 21, back in 96. Based out of Toronto, Canada. My Dad had always been a licensed mechanic, worked at Lancia and Alfa Romeo in Italy. he had a reputation for being the number 1 guy for Italian cars in Toronto. I was probably on my 7th company by that point some successful some not so successful. I was a Black jack dealer, Machine operator, Contractor, Club DJ and promoter. Had my own companies, that did moving, Teaching, etc etc. Every time we made money, and everytime we pissed it all away got bored and started something new.
So then I started Magnus, it was originally a repair shop, I fixed all the Italian guys Oldsmobile's in the Neighborhood, they brought me espresso and we hung out and shot the shit, mostly my dad's buddies. Then I souped up some Rx7's for me and some buddies, and we began to collect a reputation for making cars fast. And from there it snowballed out of control, I went from doing brake jobs and changing shocks to building motors, and hand fabricating parts to make unheard of hp out of 4 cyl's and rotaries.
So that's how it began The Mitsubishi's came soon after the rotaries, and I never looked back. We consistently broke records and made more power than the last guy, I always though outside the box to achieve my goals, I have always believed that you have to make and impression, be original and stand out from the crowd if you want to be remembered. Lets face it Just before it is all over all you got is the memories of the good times, the GT's. The pursuit of money and success is only so that you can buy more good times.
We are so critical of our own work almost to a fault, It will never be ugly, first thing; It must stimulate the eyes first, before anyone will become attracted to it. We constantly strive to achieve perfection, but most importantly, it must have appeal! Wether it be visual, the first priority, its got to look hot. Or to accomplish the mission, ultimate satisfaction must be achieved at all costs. Once again back to the GT's.
This is how I approach anything from a design point. It must be Perfectly beautiful and supremely functional. We are the Gucci, Armani, Rolex of parts. Something that you strive for owning something that leaves a lasting impression while stimulating your senses. Dare I say you Yearn for it? Am I full of myself? I swing my dick if I have to, but only in good fun, After all I'm still chasing the GT's.
All of you cocksuckers out there who copy my shit, go fuck yourselves. You don't impress me You wanna hang with the very best? Then try and be better than the very best, not "JUST LIKE THE BEST, BUT CHEAPER!" You have cheapened yourself. Furthermore you have taken the whole human race back a step in time but not using your god given power to think, and be superior, would prefer to just be. You are as forgettable boring sunday spent doing nothing. Was that too harsh? Good, maybe I have motivated you.
Cars have kind of consumed my life, and I sometimes regret it, but I enjoy the fact in knowing that I have met or exceeded all of the personal challenges that I have set myself. I love the rush of racing, racing anything with a motor, but I realy enjoy hanging out with people and and just fucking laughing our asses off as I spew strange comments and humor from my Guinea lips. :) Again, GT's
