About Me

DeityPhobia: What Does it Mean?
DeityPhobia means fear of God.
DeityPhobia is the brainchild of two twenty-something guys, Drew Eylander and Ryan Bleek. Drew, the son of a long-time board member, and future pastor and Ryan, the son, grandson, and brother-in-law of ministers, both grew up in church. We believe that Christians often take themselves too seriously, and are prone to missing the things that really are serious.
Our products are designed to get you to laugh, think, make a statement, or do all three at the same time. We believe that a balanced life, in general, and our faith, specifically, require a good measure of both humor and thought. Though some people may view our products as somewhat irreverent, we do not see this as conflicting with our brand name. Some of our products are satirical. Though we do not intend to offend people, we believe that doing so is sometimes unavoidable, and is often a sign of having done something right.
If one of our shirts, videos, or blogs pisses you off, feel free to write us an angry email. Hopefully, it will make us either laugh or think. And at least well have that in common.

Ive made a huge mistake.

My favorite show ever is "Arrested Development" (Annyong!). One of the re-occurring lines of the show's characters is, "I've made a huge mistake." I uttered said phrase Sunday afternoon as I prepare...

Dear Mr. President

It's been a while since I've written a letter to the President (and again, I actually send these to the Whitehouse). As a reminder, the basic point is to write about something over which the Presiden...

"$100,000 bitches"

As I write this, I sit in a Borders on the outskirts of D.C. across the room from a real-life female body-builder. Her arms are large. Her sex appeal is not. In between us sits an obliviously obnox...

Long and lonesome highway.

I somewhat impulsively left for a very long, lonely roadtrip last Tuesday to visit several law schools that I've either been admitted to, waitlisted at, or haven't heard from yet. My first stop was V...

Escaping the Lilliputions.

As I sat down to write my third, and final, installment of my thoughts on Iraq, I laughed at myself. I know that level of thought that I put into this greatly exceeds the level of interest that peopl...

You heard it here first.

In my last blog post I discussed how I see the origins of the Iraq war. Today I want to tackle my view of the current situation in Iraq, with a heavy emphasis on the difficulty of making a definitive...
