Books:
I've read at least two thousand books so far in my life.. I think that's a lot COMPARED to "some people"... but I feel sorry for those that can't comprehend and enjoy literature... writing is the greatest thing that man has created... not just because we know ourselves... but because it shows the capacity for imagination and fantasy we have which is what is our soul... what sets us apart from every other species on this planet... OUR dreams come off those pages.... it just takes us time.... Currently I am looking forward to the release of the first of a trilogy of Philip Pullman books known as His Dark Materials to be made into MOVIES... And we are talking Lord of the Rings BUDGET here! These three books: The Golden Compass (Or Northern Lights in the UK) The Subtle Knife (read it and appreciate my self comparison) The Amber Spyglass.. I wish I had read these in high school..... had gotten to analyze them with my classmates... because the most moving book I read in HS was the Catcher In The Rye... now that's a lot of people's fave book.... It's a phenominal book... but nothing brought about the sense of ...well... I felt like I was there almost... or I REMEMBERED what happened... it was strange... but they will make UNBELIEVABLE films that will blow LOTR out of the water! Now I'm not hating on the preciOUS! I'm just saying that Tolkians' writing amazes me... Pullmans' aSTOUNDS me. I am well versed in all Tolkian, I LOVED the Silmarillion... but these books take the CAKE!!!! Yeah,so to summarize... I'm well read... I LOVE it when people talk about books I have read ...I'll let you know the next time THAT happens... kids these days are like READING? EWWW! to read the writing of people my age or even older is SCARY! It makes me more aware of the rate of illiteracy on this planet.
