____ *** Music Bio: Trenell Parfait was born in Houma, Louisiana. As the youngest of 5 children, he was exposed to many styles of music from cajun country to hard rock. He got his first drum set at age 5 and started his first band at age 9. By the time he was 11, his band was already playing at a variety of events. When he was 14, his band entered a "Battle of the Bands" contest where Trenell received the coveted "Best Musician" award. By this time, he began teaching himself to play acoustic and electric guitar, piano, keyboards, bass guitar, and songwriting. He was a scholar athlete with "Board of Regents" honors when he attended Mississippi State University for aerospace engineering and was a Dean's List recipient. After 2.5 years at MSU, Trenell was called to chase his first love, MUSIC, and enrolled at a recording engineering school in Ohio where he graduated first in his class in 1994. He began to produce and engineer in his hometown and did remixes for both Capitol Records and EMI. After some studio experience and playing local clubs with a country/rock band, it was finally time to make the move to Nashville. There he met other songwriters and musicians and began performing writer's nights with his main writing partner and amazing singer, Felicia Johnson. He also met J.D. Smith at one of these writer's rounds with whom he started the band, Whiskey Run. Trenell has since shared the stage and studio with many prominent artists and songwriters such as members of Rascal Flatts, the Joe Diffie band, etc. His band, Whiskey Run were State Runner-ups in the Colgate Country Showdown 2007. He has produced and recorded several projects in the Nashville area including Felicia Johnson, John Karl, Tracey Nolan, Tammy Gunn, Shawn Elliott, Debra Gordon, Lucas Barela, James Cain, Matt Chapel, JD Smith, and other up and coming singer/songwriters.
