Slim [*I.B.*] [[email protected]]

Slim from the IB, born in Houston, Texas grew up in Nassau, Bahamas, starting writing lyrics at the age of 17. He had always had a talent to rhyme but all writing before this time would have been considered poems, it was not untill 2003 he starting developing the art of song writing. Members from his group had been doing this for about three years before him and they quickly explained what a bar was, how many bars were in a verse and how many bars were in a chorus. With the experience around him and also producer John Boogie encouraging him to continue writing and giving him beats to work with he was able to progress quickly and catch up with the other two members. Two years after IB was trio and having produced countless tracks without being recognized it was decided they enter a talent competition to get their name out there. Throughout the Star Search competition held August 2005 they performed tracks such as "Drummer", "Oh Yeah part II" and at the finals "Look Into My Eyes Remix". IB didn't win this competition, however alot of connects were made and now their name was out there. They continued to produce more songs and then entered another competition in March 06 called "Look At Me Mama". At this competition they performed "Down and Out Remix (Mixtape)" and at the finals they performed a mix of "Hold It Down" and "Club Melody". This combination turned out to be a winning one as they won the rap category. After winning this event, Slim went on to start working on two mixtapes, "I'm So Ready" and "I Been Ready" at the same time at home while his group member Bino went to Alambama to work on his mixtape "Da Take Ova". The plan is now to use mixtapes as demos to show versatility as far as lyrics, concepts and flows go. Slim like the other members and the newest memeber, Penny, is steppin out as a solo artist to strengthen the team as a whole.
