Rhythmically entrancing, sonically balanced, Sound Logic has arrived to recall the renaissance of hip hop. Comprised of Avatar (DumpTruck Records, LA2theBay, Wayward Saints, Underlords) Smile OAK (formerly of People Under the Stairs, Cosmic Truckaz) and DJ Rylo (Sebadukes, Linoleum Lineage), Sound Logic draws influences from Hip Hop's golden era and modernizes it with a unique approach encapsulating jazz, old school, down-tempo and afro-beat grooves to accentuate their lyrical elasticity and musical diversity. Culled from the ashes of the now-defunct Con. El. Crew which began in the East Bay Area of Northern California circa 1992, Sound Logic emcees Avatar & Smile OAK have became mainstays in the Los Angeles underground, each releasing critically acclaimed albums respectively and performing alongside many of hip hop's heavyweights. Concurrently, DJ Rylo has forged his reputation spinning at every hot spot on the West Coast and developing his signature style as a producer and a turntablist. Now armed with a new mission, Sound Logic has fused together to create music that is as thought-provoking as it is playful and groove-oriented, with additional contributions by such notable producers as Presto (Concrete Grooves) and DJ Obi (Cobra LA, HS Records), this trio is primed to embark on a journey that will provide the musical backdrop to the laid-back lifestyle of urban bohemia while maintaining appeal to hip hop enthusiasts worldwide.
