Heroes:
I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others feared to go and did what others failed to do. I asked nothing of those who gave nothing and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness that I felt. I have seen the face of terror, endured the stinging cold of fear and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment's love. I have cried pain and hope. But most of all, I have lived times others would say were best forgotten. At least some day I'll be able to say that I was proud of what I was......A SOLDIER.I have had the blessing that the Lord has let my brother Jonathan go to war in Iraq and come back alive and well. He is to soon depart once again and I know that the Lord will keep him under His wings once again. Unfortunately, not everyone has been as blessed as my family so I ask everyone to take a moment out of our busy schedule today to remember all the fallen soldiers who fought for our freedom while we sit around and complain about pitty things in life.I also ask that we please take a moment and pray for those who are in Iraq presently fighting as well as pray for my brother, his new wife and children and our family as he once again departs for Iraq.
