Straight to the Withdrawal has been making music in the spare bedroom of a duplex in Bowling Green, Ohio since August of 2006. Charles Luedecke and Jeremy Rober have been acquainted and have had the occasional jam session since they met back in 2002. When they were both finally free of other projects they were working on due to relocation of friends and bandmates they teamed up with Travis Beckwith to form a new band. Jeremy met Travis through some mutual friends and played with Travis in a Pearl Jam cover band for an April Fools Day show in 2006.After making songs and practicing for the fall and early winter, Straight to the Withdrawal began recording and working on promoting themselves for live shows. They played their first gig December 2nd at Club Bijou in Toledo, Ohio in a Toledo Showcase. Since then they have played several times in Bowling Green (Grumpy Dave’s Pub and Howard’s Club H) and Toledo (Club Bijou) to wonderful fans. They generally play about two shows a month, and love the chance to get in front of a live audience and perform. Each of the members is a great musician in their own right, and when they joined together they created something that is refreshingly different from the type of rock music getting radio play currently. Their sound is inherently simple due to there only being three members, but at the same time impressively complex. They play a crunchy yet melodic version of alternative rock with obvious influence from the grunge era of the 90’s. More current influences that come through are Incubus, System of a Down and Dredg. They enjoy creating music that cannot be easily compartmentalized – the kind you have to hear to really understand what they are all about.MySpace Layouts
