Influences: I grew up listening to music from the 50s, 60s and 70s (thanks to my parents). What also makes me a little different is that I've spent 7+ years seriously studying and singing classical music. After studying classical music for awhile I started to focus more on my own writing and recording, enabling me to more freely express myself through music. I'm definitely still growing as an artist and I strive to continue doing so by learning all aspects of music that I can. Singers like Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu and Mary J. Blige are a few of the many musicians that I respect and look up to as vocalist. I also love to listen and mellow out to 70s rock music. There's something about the melody of the songs mixed with gritty vocals that is so intriguing to me....
