Infrared, born Leslie Spencer, made her way into this world on August 3, 1981. The Atlanta, GA native emerged from childhood poetic writings and emulated hip hop artists until she was able to form her own style at the age of 11. Later as a thirteen- year old tomboy with a boyish image and heavy voice, Infrared stopped people in their tracks during hallway freestyle battles at middle school. There she met T-Rock, former member of Hypnotized Mindz. By the year of 1997 at the tender age of 16 she was making her way to her first professional recording studio. Producers were surprised with her commanding tones that rendered macho flex attitude.With her parents pushing in a different direction, Infrared accepted her scholarship to Tuskegee University and moved to Alabama. While away from home she entered lyricist lounge shows at Tuskegee University and improved her diversity in rap, hip-hop lyrics, and her newfound love for song writing.College took a back burner in 2000 after Infrared learned of her pregnancy. However she was still in the studio recording with Area 51, even while toting an 8 lb. 6 oz. load. As a group they have opened up for T.I., performed at Club Legends in Statesboro during the Players Ball, performed at Atlantas nightclub The Bounce, JPauls in Riverdale, the Pool Palace on Bankhead, and had the privilege to perform on UPNs R Nation.As the first lady of Area 51, Infrared brings spice to the group from a female perspective while still holding it down for all of her male fans. Even in a group that solely consists of 7 members she still stands out and refuses to be outshined. She has a hardcore delivery like Mia X, while being as raw and uncut as Lil Kim. Armed with her pen and fierce desire, her metaphorically rich rhyme skills will become the new image of a thugged out female with the ability to dominate the hip hop culture and the dirty south industry.
