Brought up in Bangor, County Down, Ireland where I learned traditional fiddle. Started Classical violin lessons age and been playing ever since. Studied lots of music related stuff at Purcell School, England. Erformed Street Music (jump-up-and-down-classical-string-quartet-music... yes we (Bebeto) were the first but now they're all doing it. Got a bit disheartened with Classical music - always played Trad (Irish Traditional ) music so hoppped across the pond and carried on my musical education in pubs and sessions in Dublin, though enevitabley ended up in Royal Irish Academy of music doing Classical again. Got BA in Performance there - learned lots of technical things about playing. Got a bit disheartened with Classical music, again. Carried on paying Trad in pubs, and then larger venues. Travelled and played lots abroad with Irish Trad band Gael Sli. Decided I wanted to learn 'how it's all done' so started music technology course. Just finished first year of two-year Master's in music tech. in Trinity College Dublin with the notion of becoming a composer and arranger when I'm done, along with performing as per usual. Recent addicitons include Oldtime music (pre-bluegrass American traditional msuic basically) and eastern-European tunes (Klezmer/Balkan/Arabic-influenced stuff) both of which I play and record. I'm currently in 3 amazing bands: Yurodny - eastern and contemporay music ensmble - Prison Love - Oldtime/Bluegrass/Cadjun band - and I Draw Slow - Americana-influenced original songs.
All three bands should definately be checked out on myspace music if not booked for your local venue, village disco, wedding or funeral.
