Transmission Corrupts Barfly is rebranding in a more minimal form as, purely:
CORRUPT
Other than that, our policy is the same... quality music at quality venues. Bringing you the best in new and breaking bands, before the hype and the "I was there" crowd get their superficial mitts on them.
Check the new myspace page for details of Corrupt Events coming to a venue near you soon, and become our fwend.
Our launch under the new guise will be on September 15th @ Barfly complete with a team-up with Sony Viao Nation - smile for the cameras, kids!
Featuring:
The Bad Robots - Well-known local favourites, tipped for the top. I'm not saying anything more. If you don't know them already, you've been trapped in a closet (possibly with R Kelly?) and it's really time to come out (yes, like that, if you like?!)
Sequoia - Possibly the best band you've not heard of yet... following great responses from Guilfest and Canadian Music Week, they went on to be MSN Italy's record of the week, even though they're a UK band. They've just returned from playing a major festival there and several high-profile gigs. See what all the fuss is about...
Sidecar Kisses - back in new 3-piece line-up, this twee boy/girl vocal interplay mixed with raw-edged riffs attack-on-the-ears caused quite a stir at last year's In The City, and are now looking set to cross over to mainstream success any minute
Bashphelt - we usually think of funk as a four letter word here, but these guys from Lancashire have changed our minds. Somewhere akin to the Mr Hudson school of thought, and just amazing live. Possibly the most professional opening act you'll ever see!
As always, you will be entertained between bands by our Corrupt Resident DJs and allowed to stay for the ever-popular Casino Royale clubnight after the bands, running into the wee hours with an indie disco upstairs, and some fabulous 'proper' 60s music and hits through the ages downsairs.
The following event will be September 29th @ Barfly - the London single launch for Dragons - with their Joy Division meets Depeche Mode meanderings, and an amazing stage show, it's not to be missed. They've got special guests opening for them, and our Corrupt Resident DJs will be keeping it dark and dancy. Check it!
This site will be not be hosting any new information, so please come and join us at the new myspace page to keep abreast of our Corrupt Events
-----------------------------------------------------
We aim to bring together an unusual range of bands to corrupt your mind and auditory senses. Bands who are not the staple Camden / Hoxton / W. London fare; new and rising stars (mostly unsigned) who are gaining great reputations from audiences and press alike. Weve already debuted Dogbones, Elefant, Fleeing New York, Echelon, Three Miles From, Jesse Malin, D.U.N.E (now Tarka Groove Experiment), Optimist Club, The Seen, the Oracleboy, Youth Of Britain (Y.O.B), and Authority as headline acts, and we're going to continue to get extraordinary, shockingly brilliant, and potentially genre-defining bands into two great venues with superb sound, and great musical histories for live transmission to open-minded music lovers. Because Good music is not defined by genre!
Check on the Corrupt Events Website for line-ups and more information.
If you're in a band and want to play for us, please email Corrupt Management , who handle all our bookings. Please provide weblinks where we can hear your music, a biog, your current and recent bookings, and any other relevant info.
If you'd like to be our friend, hear about our events, get cheap entry, competition offers, etc. Please add yourself and allow us to corrupt your fragile little mind!
