For over 12 years now Mark has been involved in the dance music industry, with various roles in different areas of the business.
It all started with a work experience role at his local record shop Stop On By Records. Here he worked on developing his skills and quickly developed a love for House music. Early influences came from Basement Boys, Roger Sanchez, Farley + Heller and Masters at Work to name a few.It was while working at Stop On By that Mark met the organisers of Pioneering London Pirate Radio station GIRLS FM. Subsequently he was given a prime time Saturday night show at the age of just 16!!!
Gigs quickly followed in venues such as The Cross, Bagleys, Club UK, Turnmills and Ministry of Sound where Mark really began to master his talent. After 2 years at Stop On By, Mark (along with pal Ty Holden) got the opportunity to open a record store of their own, KYNG RECORDS. Specialising in House Music Kyng ran for 3 successful years in the heart of Londons West End. Mark regularly represented Kyng Records playing at venues such as The Gardening Club, The Cross, The Annexe and Hanover Grand. In 1996 Mark met with London fashion entrepreneur Gifi Fields and began DJing at catwalk shows and parties, and was one of the first DJs ever to play live at London Fashion Week!
Gifi and Mark became good friends and soon decided that their mutual interest in music should be put to good use. Together they had the idea of starting a dance radio station on the internet and after a year of planning Soho Live was launched. Mark put an unrivalled DJ roster together with regular shows from Mousse T, Bryan Gee, DJ Swing, Ramsey and Fen, Kenny Hawkes, DJ Disciple and Brian Tappert to name a few. After 2 great years Mark decided to move on and was subsequently asked to join Mousse T and Simon Marlin at Peppermint Jam Records. He developed Peppermint Jam Distribution in the UK with over 30 labels being distributed by Peppermint Jam.
After 2 years of running the distribution side of the business Mark was asked to take over at the helm of Peppermint Jam and is now Label Manager and A+R for the this very prestigious label in the UK.Mark is also the resident DJ for Peppermint Jam UK and can be seen playing all over the UK and Ireland as well as international gigs in Russia, Germany, Ibiza, and Miami.
