About Me
I started Playing the bass at 17 and have had the privilege of playing with some incredibly talented musicians who helped shaped my musicianship. Of course there is the Culture Shock days during which time I played with some of the best from Ghana and around the world, namely Kofi Edu, Kwame Wood, George Kouakou, Alexander Holland and Stanley Cooper who has played on most of my tracks soon to be released in the U.S. Have also played with Leroy Sibles, John Holt, Ken Boothe, U Roy and that's just to name a few of the artist from the Carribean that I've backed in the D.C. area during my days with the DKGB. So is Shadow, Sugar Aloe, and Baron all from Trinidad with Image Band. Have also shared the stage with Toots and The Maytals, Bunny Wailer and Luciano at the MCI center in Washington D.C. Same as John Lucien at Fort Dupont with the Image Band.
Many have added in shaping my musical scope in terms of styling and it's mainly due to the kind of orientation that I had growing up in Ghana where we listened to James Brown, Bob James, The Temptations, The Winans, Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Andrew Crouch, The Ramblers, Koo Nimo, Nana Ampadu, Gyedu Blay Ambulley and on and on. So, to the guy who asked me the other day 'what kind of music did you grow up listening to?' I couldn't pinpoint one genre, in that it was all of the above and of course, more. Certainly explaining why my musicianship is not of a particular genre but music and good music. To Be Continued. More of the U.S and Ghana experience!!!
