Highly requested in the entertainment industry, artist Sammy Do grew up in the rich cultural background of Vietnam . Although he began his artistry in the traditional sense, sculpting and painting, Sammy decided to branch out and explore new artistic mediums. So in 1991 Sammy relocated to San Francisco where he mixed his Southeast Asian style with a Western aesthetic.Like all artists, Sammy came to a point in his career where he felt it was time for him to try his hand in the city that never sleeps. After two years in San Francisco , he packed up his tools and moved to New York City . Since then the Vietnamese born artist has been a staple in the world-renowned Village of Harlem .Once in the Big Apple Sammy quickly made a name for himself. Working with industry veterans like June Ambrose, Claudine Joseph, and Mona Scott, Sammy’s client list reads like a “who’s who†in the entertainment world. From entertainers Brooke Shields, Ashanti and Missy Elliott to R&B songbird Tweet and hip hop artist Remy Ma. Sammy’s work has graced the pages and covers of magazines like Rolling Stone, Honey, The Avenue, King, People, i-D and VIBE just to name a few.Mr. Do is not just a nail technician. He has taken his artistry to the next level and continues to delve into the world of aesthetics. When Sammy is not creating nail art, you can find him expanding his canvas to other areas of the body through face/body painting, tattoos, and make-up application.Sammy frowns on the idea of make-up, but rather believes in the philosophy of enhancement – basically, playing up natural assets.
