About Me
"Drew" White started playing the guitar at the
young age of thirteen and first began playing with a
Jazz band in middle school performing for local venues in
Washington DC. He graduated High School from
Washington DCs most prestigious school for the
performing arts, Duke Ellington, under the tutelage of
Tom Newman.
Drew has an impressive history which includes
tenure with popular go - go bands in Washington DC
such as, the Northeast Groovers, Mambo Sauce,
Optimystic Trybe, Third Dimension (3DB), Uncalled For
Band (UCB), Backyard and Black Alley. With that
experience he began to branch off and focus more on
performing with R&B/Soul/Jazz artists and bands
such as, Raheem DeVaughn, Lysette Titi, Algebra, Peter
Hadar, YaMama 'n em and Ayanna Gregory (Dick Gregory's
daughter).
In 2005, Drew began performing with the Grammy-
Award winning recording artist, Mya, and went on to
tour throughout the world and on the annual "Seagram
Gin Live Tour 2007". He’s also featured in her
latest music video "Lock you down".
Some of Drew's music influences include, Jimi
Hindrix, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Prince,
Lenny Kravitz, George Benson, West Montgomery and
Eddie Hazel. Like these legendary musicians, Drew
aspires to continue to travel around the world
performing his own material, which is sure to touch
the hearts of music lovers in all genre's and
generations.
