Agave was formed in the spring of 2003 in Parma, Ohio, with the original lineup of Jeremy Leuenberger on lead guitar and vocals, Paul Kalaani on rhythm guitar and vocals, Andy Suhm on bass, and Nick Svoboda on drums. After a few months, the band began to play out in various local venues around the Greater Cleveland area. In August of 2003, they recorded their first CD entitled Has Beans in the basement of a friend. After a couple of months, the band became unsatisfied with the mediocre recording and began to write new material while still playing around local venues. When Andy Suhm made his departure from the band in September 2004, Scott Kirby joined the band shortly after. It wasnt until December 4th, 2004, when the band won the Battle of the Bands at the Agora, that they decided to head into the studio. In less than 2 months at Audio Works with Eddie Tomecko, the band finished recording the 10 tracks for their self-titled CD. After a year of CD sales and writing new material, the band is now back in the studio with a new member on Keys, Pat Dicaprio, who joined the band in October 2005. In the summer of 2007, the band and bassist Scott Kirby made a mutual split, and Paul Kalaani took over on bass. Shortly after, the band made its final split and disbanded after 5 years.
