Band Members: Timothy McConville (drums), Marike Damhuis (vocals), Gibb Slife (guitar)
Influences: Directly following the Belgian-Finish Conflict, former Les Savy Favian Gibb Slife found himself in Louvain-La-Neuve, just south of Brussels, on an U.N sponsored good will tour. Playing in the ruins of a burnt out cathedral, a face in the crowd got his attentionDefying strict codes against fraternization between musical troops and refugees, Slife met Marike Damhuis. By sunrise, they had six songs. Dutchess, as they would come to call their union, was born. Now, the issue was to safely smuggle Marike out of Belgium. Slife, still on tour, telegrammed friend Timothy McConville. Through his connections in the Import-Export industry, McConville was able to bring Marike into the States in a shipment of oriental rugs. And he plays the drums.A scorch earth sound. The soul of loss. Fury for a gone world.Dutchess is an explosive act. They blow like roman candles.Hear for yourself.
