Polarity Therapy, developed by Randolph Stone, D.C., D.O., is a system of gentle hands on energy balancing supported by exercises, diet, and counseling to find the blockages and release energy to normal flow patterns, and to maintain the Energy Field in an open, flexible condition.
Swedish massage is now known as "traditional" massage. Swedish massage includes long gliding strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, and shaking motions. It is effective for most ailments, because massaging the skin, the body's largest organ, sets up a chain reaction that produces a positive effect on all layers and systems of the body. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, and promotes health and well being.
Hot Stone massage is a technique that uses stones that have been heated. These stones are positioned on the body and some are gently moved about with light pressure being exerted on the warm stones. Very popular & relaxing.
Neuromuscular massage is a comprehensive program of soft-tissue manipulation that balances the body's central nervous system with the musculo-skeletal system. Neuromuscular therapy is used to locate and release spasms in muscle tissue, eliminate trigger points that cause referred pain, restore postural alignment, and flexibility to the tissues, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, and assist venous and lymphiatic flow.
Shiatsu is the most widely known form of acupressure, literally meaning "finger pressure" in Japanese, and has been practiced for more than a thousand years in Japan. Shiatsu uses rhythmic pressure from 30 seconds to 3 minutes on specific points along the body's meridians by using the fingers, hands, and elbows, to unblock and stimulate the flow of energy. A session my also include gentle stretching and range-of-motions manipulations. Shiatsu is used to treat pain and illness, to relax the body, and to maintain general health. Shiatsu does not require disrobing.
Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve health and enhance the quality of life. Reiki does not require disrobing.
Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical examination, diagnois or treatment
