The Metal Update began in the mid-90s as an informal weekly email to a group of metal loving friends. The newsletter expanded and become more formal over time, and in 1998, metalupdate.com was established. Today, the Metal Update is delivered to the inboxes of over 15,000 subscribers every week, keeping the metal faithful up to date with news and interviews as well as tour and release dates. In conjunction with partner site Metal Judgment, the two sites provide comprehesive information to the metal community.
