"A few years back, some like-minded rock'n rollers got together with a mission to spread their brand of heavy hitting, kick ass sound to the masses. Their album Failure is Not an Option will show Slander to be a force to be reckoned with. News 4U, October 2003, wrote "Slander is a hard rock'n, heavy hittin' kick in the ass!"
Formed in December 2001, in the hills of Kentucky, Slander has created a sound of their own. While being compatible to today's mainstream sound, they are ready to challenge that sound and break the mold.
Since Slander's inception, the band has released two CD's,
the EP entitled Nothin's Free
and the full length Failure is Not an Option .
The Amplifier in October 2004, wrote; "This area's hard rock scene is well served by Slander. Their full-length release, Failure is Not an Option, is one of the best local releases in any genre in the past year."

Touring extensively throughout KY, IN, TN, AR, AL , and LA . They have received air time in KY, TN, MO, FL , and KS , and well as in the UK and Russia , and are featured on countless internet radio stations.
Slander has showcased in front of Epic, Atlantic and Capital Records at the famous Hard Rock Cafe in New Orleans and has received interest from Perris Records. The A & R representatives were very receptive to Slander's unique style and sound.
Their song Down, from their CD Failure is Not an Option, is being featured in the independent film Dance With A Vampire, and was also 'track of the day' on GarageBand.com on 2/24/04.
Slander has been featured in the national publication Revolver Magazine and in the monthly magazines News 4U and The Amplifier as well as the Bowling Green Daily News.
They have been featured guests on local music radio shows such as; Homecookin on 93.3 WDNS, Sound Source/Local Axcess on 103.7 WPTQ, Local Shots on WHHR and 91.7 WKU radio stations, and ABC Affliliate WBKO channel 13.
Nuclear Grind, June 2002, said of them "There is no doubt this band will be making serious waves in the scene for years to come!! I actually look forward to seeing where the future leads this band (or where they lead the future)!"
