The Ron Sayer Band

About Me

The Band have been together for a few years, in various forms performing its particular brand of blues, rock and pop in locals pubs and clubs.I have a degree in Classical music (yes! not very rock and roll), have grade 8 in both guitar and bass. Trained as a teacher at Cambridge Uni, and as an examiner for Trinity College Rockschool. I have given lectures in Blues Improvisation at Cambridge University to music Postgrads. I was voted 'Guitarist of the Year' in '96 by Guitarist Magazine. I'm a Fender fanatic mainly using a 52RI tele or a '64 strat through a valve amp.Paul is a fantastic drummer with huge ears (musically) and a rather fetching Tama Star Classic, he teaches percussion for the county and has played strip poker with.........sorry played drums with The Nolan Sisters, and Malcolm provides a solid bottom (and also plays bass in the band :-) with his array of assorted Fender basses in fetching colours and an old and dusty Ampeg with hamsters living in it!
