YEMAYA is called the GREAT MOTHER because she is the Mother of many of the ORISHAS. She is also called the great mother due to her great COMPASSION for mankind. She rules the sea, the Moon, dreams, deep secrets, sea shells, ancient wisdom, salt water, fresh water, ocean secrets, the collective unconscious, and the surface of the ocean. She is my mother, my guardian, my beautiful star of the sea.
