Official Biography of *** KONGO BANGA ***
Creating an original and an unique blend of Reggae "Afriq Roots Reggae", stretching significantly the boundaries and expanding the vocabulary of Congolese, former-Zaire and African Reggae, Kongo Banga had released his debut album Africa Womb Of Humanity late 95 on Kongo-music Ltd label.
A blend of music combaning his diverse native rhythms and beats to Rock and Reggae, which carries universal and humanitarian visions as the essence in his inner researches. The militancy within conscious lyrics expressed by sharpened voice are clearly there to be heard. Although Kongo hadn't benefit proper media promotions, he did acquire international popularity performing European main-stages and festivals, to name few such as three days Jura Hills Festival 94 with Ras Michael, in Germany; successful promotional and TV-shows back in his home-town Kinshasa DR Congo 95. Racism Beat it festival in 96 with Black Uhuru Amsterdam, Sommernachtsfest 96; Luisenparks 100 years anniversary Mannheim, in Germany. Kongo Banga has been invited as well to take part on the CD 50 the Soundtrack by the late Amsterdams Rock and Roll junky Herman Brood, with some of the national major recording artists including Nina Hagen, Germany./CLIP

In the early 98, at the request of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix, Kongo performed at the ceremonies of the 60th anniversary of H.M. the Queen and H.R.H. Prince Claus. Many of the world leaders attended the ceremony, Royal Palace in Amsterdam. In 2007 june, he performed for the 5th anniversary of the Curatorium of Prince Claus Chair, Royal Palace Noordeinde The Hague.
His latest album was recorded in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Kingston, Jamaica. It contains tracks recorded with one of the greatest world Reggae architect Aston familyman Barrett, Bob Marley' living legend bass-player and leader of the Wailers band up to this days. Operating internationally has made the multi-lingual artist Kongo absorb more sound techniques, human experience and production knowlegde in order to sharpen his unique kind of style and sound.By the fall of year 2004 he created Ekelamu foundation to promote artists and bands under EASYJAMMIN CONCERTS & FESTIVALS, helping youths to learn and develop their musical talents under EJ-WORKSHOPJAM.
