About Me

One tired mistake and you delete all your html... sighCurrently in between something and nothing, moving towards the former, I hope.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: That'd be me.
Influences: Above all else, HR Pufnstuf. He is, after all, your friend when things get rough...But there is also this...
I used to listen to dance and trance, sport coin rings, and crave a golden stud in my left ear lobe. Then I turned 13.
A school friend introduced me to Nirvana, followed closely by Metallica. Another introduced me to Slipknot, but I was quickly steared away to grungier shores by Pearl Jam ….before returning to check them out some time later.
I also got quite into Damien Rice a while back, though I'm taking a sabbatical for the good of my health. Another Damien would be Mr. Dempsey, who, thankfully, I saw live before hearing any of his albums – they just don’t do him justice (even the live one…)
My uncle taught me Queen. Family barbeques taught me REM. I’m more recently being taught the joys of Patty Griffin, Suzanne Vega, Rufus Wainwright and Sheryl Crow by a lady with what is probably the best taste in music I know.
My ears have thus far been largely, and unfortunately, neglected, but there are plenty of others, and to name but a few;
Alice in Chains, Andy McKee, Carl Verheyen, Coldplay, Colin Hay, Dennis Locorriere, Faithless, Fatboy Slim, Foo Fighters, Frou Frou, Gretschy, Iron And Wine, Jose Gonzalez, Machine Head, Megadeth, Metallica, Moby, My Brightest Diamond, Oasis, Pink Floyd, Paul Weller, Pantera, Pete Murray, Portishead, Rage Against The Machine, Ray LaMontagne, Ryan Adams, Scott Matthews, Sigur Ros, Simon & Garfunkel, System of a Down, The Shins, Zero 7….. The local artists can often be the biggest inspiration of all - probably because they're not from a far and distant land where dreams and record deals are made - they're real. And sometimes, their music is too.Locally:
Amy McGarrigle, Anima (ROI), Blackball Fighter, Bee Mick See, Blind Friday, Cal, Cava, David McCann, David White, Donal Scullion, Duke Special, Dynamo, Foy Vance, Gareth Dunlop (who was introduced to me by...) Garth McConaghie, Kagura, Laura Stevenson, Ludwig, Mary's Great Idea, No Ghost, Nocturn, Pat and Nipsy, Pigs and Pearls, Roddy Johnston (England), Ruby, Stunt, The Greeters, The Hellfire Club, The Welcomes, Tin Pot Operation, Within Earshot.
Undoubtedly, there'll be more to come :)
Sounds Like: If you wanna tell me, I'll put it here.
Type of Label: Major

Yield

"Halt! Artez! Stoia!"At least I think that's how you spell them... it's been a while...And then there were three. Yield was the first to come tumbling out of my guitar strings after months of silence ...

Mr. Rose

Here's the second of the three. And it actually is the second too, so it looks like I'm uploading them in reverse-chronological-order.    The song's basically about someone I t...

86 Days

Earlier in the week, I was texting a friend of mine, trying to arrange getting food together after work. At the end of one of his texts, he skipped a line and wrote,"You're just a slave to a wage!...

A Rant.

I used to wear headphones when I was out and about so I could listen to my kind of music. A while back - maybe a year or so - I stopped wearing them. "Why?" you ask. And thus we begin. One day I wal...
